Common Questions

Which MOT classes are you authorised to test?

We are a DVSA-approved testing station for Class 4 (standard passenger cars, taxis, and small vans) and Class 7 (commercial goods vehicles between 3,000kg and 3,500kg). If you’re unsure which category your van falls into, check your V5C logbook or give us a quick ring.

Yes. We specialise in both traditional timing belts and the more complex “wetbelts” found in many modern engines. These require specialist alignment tools and technical expertise to prevent catastrophic engine failure. We recommend following your manufacturer’s service intervals strictly to keep your vehicle safe.

Many of our customers choose to drop their vehicle off in the morning and collect it later in the day, but we can offer “while-you-wait” slots if booked in advance. We have a comfortable waiting area, or you can take a short walk into Shepton Mallet while we complete your Class 4 or Class 7 MOT test.

You have 10 working days from day of test to repair the vehicle and return for a re-test, there is no fee for this. If the vehicle is returned after the 10 working days a full test has to be carried out again at the standard rate.

For minor maintenance like fitting a new battery, replacing a blown bulb, or checking your oil levels, we can usually accommodate you quite quickly. However, we always recommend calling ahead first so we can ensure we have the correct parts on the shelf for your specific make and model.

We do. Unlike “fast-fit” centres that only do the easy jobs, we are a full-service garage. Our technicians are experienced in heavy repairs, including full clutch and flywheel replacements, gearbox issues, and suspension overhauls to keep your car handling exactly as it should.

Yes, we offer a full tyre service including puncture repairs, wheel balancing, and replacements. We stock a range of options from premium brands to high-quality budget tyres, ensuring you have the right grip and tread depth for the Somerset roads, whatever your budget.

Absolutely. By optimising the software that manages your engine, we can unlock better throttle response, increased torque, and improved fuel economy (MPG). It’s a precision service that we tailor to your specific vehicle and driving style to ensure safe, reliable power gains.
